TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrival Airport – Transfer to Hotel
(50 km – 45 minutes)

  • On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.
  • Located below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, Arusha has a temperate climate.
  • Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
(160 km, 3 – 4 hours)

  • After breakfast, you will be picked up at 07:30 am from the hotel and driven on a tarmac road for 120km to Tarangire National Park (2,850 sq km or 1,005 sq miles).
  • The visit will start with a game drive, followed by a picnic lunch.
  • In the afternoon, there will be more game viewing drive in the park, which is home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, python, zebra, oryx, impala and more.
  • It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.
  • The swamps, tinged green all year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the highest number of breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world.
  • On drier ground, you will find the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird; the stocking-thigh ostrich, the world’s largest bird; and small parties of ground hornbills blustering like turkeys.
  • More ardent bird-lovers might keep an eye open for screeching flocks of the dazzling yellow-collared lovebird, the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver, and the ashy starling – all endemic to the dry savannah.
  • Dinner and overnight at your Lodge/Camp.

DAY 3: Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
(150 km, 3 to 4 hour)

  • After an early breakfast, depart for a short drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
  • There will be a half-day game drive in the crater itself.
  • This is undoubtedly the best place in Tanzania to see black rhino, as well as the magnificent, rare black-maned lion.
  • Other game that you may see includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals.
  • There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds.
  • Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Conservation Area Lodge/Camp.

DAY 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Manyara– Arusha

  • After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, you head to Lake Manyara.
  • This is one of Tanzania’s smallest national parks, covering an area of 330 km2, 200 km2 of which is lake.
  • Lake Manyara is a paradise for large herds of elephants and buffaloes, troops of baboons, and the more than 400 bird species registered there.
  • You might also be lucky enough to spot the famous tree-climbing lions here.
  • Picnic lunch will be served.
  • After this final Tanzanian experience, you will be driven back to your hotel in Arusha or the airport for your flight to your next destination.
